Wine of the Week - Vincent Pinard Sancerre "Cuvée Florès"

This week's wine feature is Vincent Pinard's Sancerre Cuvée Florès. Consistently receiving outstanding reviews, this Sancerre hails from, Bué, a small town of 360 people in the heart of Sancerre. Bué is renowned for its limestone and clay-limestone (the Kimmeridgean terres blanches) soils, which produce more structured and powerful wines compared to other sancerre examples. The Cuvée Florès has notes of Apple, lemon juice, a floral perfume with an expressive minerality.

The Pinards have been making wine here since the 16th century and their ways of winemaking have been passed down from father to son for more than 20 generations. The current generation of Vincent and Cosette, along with their two sons, Florent and Clémente, have been producing especially impressive wines. Their goal is to create the most precise, pure, and fine wines possible using the traditional and natural winemaking techniques of their ancestors
