Recipe Thursday: Unwind with an Old Classic

‘Tis the season! While this is certainly the most joyous time of year, it can also be a whirlwind of planning and party-going. It’s easy to get caught up in the madness, so don’t forget to take some time for yourself this holiday season. Whenever we need a night to relax and restore, a good meal and fine wine will always do the trick. How about tucking into an old classic: Pan-seared scallops with beurre blanc sauce, accompanied by a lovely white burgundy?

For a recipe that’s easy and delicious, we turn to Epicurious for their version of scallops with beurre blanc sauce. Fresh scallops are pan-seared with a light flour coating, and topped with a luscious white butter sauce – one of the easiest and tastiest classic sauces to make. Since this is a night to treat ourselves, we’re pairing the scallops with Samuel Billaud's Chablis 1er Cru Les Fourneaux, a beautiful display of minerality balanced with citrus peel and fresh lime. Now it’s time to sit back, relax and rejuvenate.
