Domaine Font du Vent in Vinous and the Wine Spectator

Our newest Châteauneuf-du-Pape producer, Domaine Font du Vent, has recently received accolades from two major wine publications. The 2017 CdP Blanc scored 91 points with Josh Raynolds, who writes for Vinous:
"Limpid yellow. Powerful, mineral-accented tropical and orchard fruit aromas show excellent clarity and pick up a suave floral overtone with air. Supple and expansive on the palate, displaying sappy, impressively concentrated pear nectar, tangerine and honeysuckle flavors. Closes broad and long, leaving dusty mineral, floral and candied citrus fruit notes behind."
And the 2016 CdP "Cuvée Etienne Gonnet" has been featured in Wine Spectator's Insider, garnering 95 points and praise from James Molesworth:
"Delightfully juicy in feel, with lots of raspberry, plum and blackberry confiture flavors inlaid with singed apple wood and sandalwood notes. Garrigue, incense and rooibos tea details chime through the beguiling finish. Nicely rendered and should age gracefully."

Originally founded in 1950, Bertrand and Guillaume Gonnet continue their family’s legacy by producing wine in their style, but are also making their own mark. Their commitment to understanding the terroir in terms of how it affects the ripening process, and introducing improvements to the production process have both enhanced the elegance and style of the wine. An important initiative for the winery was the natural shift to organic agriculture. Font du Vent had been operating organically for years, so it was a logical next step to apply for organic certification. Their vines have been in their family for over four generations, and organic farming signifies their commitment to passing on healthy vineyards to the next generation.
