Recipe Thursday: Farmers Market Picnic and Rosé

The official start of summer is still a week away, but summertime picnic season is already in full swing. Given the abundance of fresh produce available right now, one of the best ways to put together a fabulous picnic spread is to swing by the farmer’s market and load up on your favorite finds – melon, prosciutto and fresh cheese – and throw them all into a giant salad, such as Love & Olive Oil’s Prosciutto and Melon Salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette.

Now, all you need is some crusty bread and a refreshing bottle of wine that will cool you down in the heat. We love the Font du Vent Côtes-du-Rhône Rosé "Les Promesses" paired with the melon and prosciutto combo. This medium-bodied and versatile style of dry rosé can stand up to rich flavors such as prosciutto and mozzarella, and helps to mellow out the sweet-tart balsamic vinegar drizzled on top of the salad.
