We’re changing things up from the typical beer and burger pairing though, and instead reaching for a brilliant bottle of Martin Clerc's Collines Rhodaniennes Syrah. The hints of black pepper and sweet violets in the wine bring out the best in the beef, and the smokiness of the burgers matches the subtle smoky notes in the wine. For even extra flair, throw some sautéed mushrooms on the burger -- it’s a perfect match with the earthy flavors in the Syrah.
